Chelsea Handler did not come to play at Netflix’s Roast of Kevin Hart on Sunday. The comedian went straight for MAGA comic Tony Hinchcliffe from the jump, landing some of the sharpest lines of the night.
Handler wasted no time singling Hinchcliffe out, telling the crowd he “has the face of a school shooter and the personality of someone who gets shot first.” She also took aim at his close friendship with Joe Rogan, asking the audience who exactly was keeping Rogan’s seat warm while Hinchcliffe was away for the evening.
Handler also went after the group of comedians who performed at the Riyadh Comedy Festival in Saudi Arabia, a gig widely condemned over the kingdom’s human rights record. She called out the tough talk from MAGA supporters while questioning whether any of them would be volunteering to fight in Iran.
Hinchcliffe is no stranger to this kind of heat. He ignited a firestorm at Trump’s 2024 Madison Square Garden rally after calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage” and making a crude slur against Latino immigrants. Trump himself later claimed he had no idea who Hinchcliffe was. Despite the backlash, Hinchcliffe landed a Netflix deal shortly after and has made no apologies for his political alignment.
On Sunday night, Handler made sure he earned every bit of the attention he’s been chasing.
