Kai Trump Shares Positive Update On Vanessa Trump’s Cancer Recovery

There was encouraging news this week from a member of the Trump family as an emotional health battle continues behind the scenes.

While the road ahead is not yet over, a new public update suggests things are moving in a positive direction.

Kai Trump says her mother, Vanessa Trump, is recovering well following surgery and continues to make progress as she undergoes treatment for breast cancer.

“My mom’s doing good,” the 19-year-old told Page Six while walking the red carpet at the 2026 ESPY Awards in New York City. “She’s doing better.”

Kai also discussed her mother’s recovery during an appearance Thursday on Fox & Friends, describing Vanessa as resilient despite the challenges of treatment.

“She’s doing better. Obviously, radiation takes a toll on your body, but she’s doing better and feeling better,” Kai said.

“She’s been a little tired, but yeah — she’s a fighter,” she added.

Vanessa, 48, announced in May that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, revealing the news in a post on Instagram.

“While this isn’t the news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” she wrote at the time.

“I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me.”

In June, Vanessa shared another update, revealing that she had undergone surgery and was beginning the next phase of her treatment.

“Over the past four weeks, I’ve been recovering from surgery, and I’m grateful to be healing and moving forward,” she wrote.

“Soon, I’ll be starting the second stage of my treatment.”

Although she did not provide additional medical details, recent public appearances have suggested she remains in good spirits.

Weeks after announcing her diagnosis, Vanessa was photographed smiling while shopping with Kai at a mall in West Palm Beach, Florida.

During her interviews this week, Kai also reflected on the support she receives from members of her family as she prepares to begin her freshman year at the University of Miami, where she has committed to play on the women’s golf team.

She said her grandfather, President Donald Trump, encourages her to enjoy every step of the journey.

“Enjoy every moment of it. It’s going to be rocky, but enjoy every moment of it,” Kai said he tells her when they play golf together.

Kai also shared advice she has received from golf legend Tiger Woods, who has been dating Vanessa since early 2025.

“Be yourself, trust the process,” Kai said Woods tells her.

According to Page Six, Woods has remained by Vanessa’s side throughout her cancer treatment.

“He’s proud of how positive she’s stayed and how she’s handling everything so far,” an unnamed source told the outlet.

“She’s been so strong, and he truly believes she’s going to be OK. He’s just trying to support her however he can right now.”

Vanessa and Donald Trump Jr. were married from 2005 until their divorce was finalized in 2018.

They share five children: Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer and Chloe.

While Vanessa still has additional treatment ahead, Kai’s latest comments offer the most encouraging update yet on her mother’s condition, The New York Post reported.

For now, the family says Vanessa continues to recover from surgery, move through radiation treatment and remain focused on the road ahead with the support of her children, loved ones and those closest to her.
